Scot P. Somes, LAc., Dipl. Ac., MSTCM, MBA
Scot Somes earned his Master of Science in Traditional Chinese Medicine degree from the Colorado School of Traditional Chinese Medicine. This three-year program consists of 2850 hours of education including over 1000 hours of clinical internship. He was certified as a Diplomate in Acupuncture and Traditional Chinese Medicine by the National Certification Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM). This includes certification in Clean Needle Technique.
Scot’s training includes adjunctive therapies such as Chinese herbs, moxibustion, tui na, cupping, auricular therapy, TCM Sports Medicine, TCM dietary and lifestyle recommendations, and Pain Management to name a few. Scot was the Clinic Director at the Colorado School of Traditional Chinese Medicine. He supervised over 50 interns and 20 supervisors for the clinic and was responsible for OSHA and HIPAA requirements and training. Scot is a member of the Acupuncture Association of Colorado and the American Association of Oriental Medicine. He is a licensed acupuncturist in Colorado.
Additionally, Scot earned his Masters in Business Administration from the University of Denver in August, 1998 and his Bachelors of Science in Engineering from the United States Naval Academy in May, 1990. He currently serves as a Captain in the US Navy Reserves. Scot loves to play various sports as well.
In the summer, you can find him cycling throughout the Front Range and the mountains, swimming and hiking. He loves to ski and play indoor soccer in the winter.
This clinic complies with the rules and regulations promulgated by the Colorado Department of Health. Only single-use, disposable, factory-sterilized needles are utilized.
